Okay, so I just finished reading "Tales of the Blood Night," and I have some thoughts. Overall, I found it to be a pretty engaging read, even with a few caveats. Zhan Yi comes across as this incredibly sexy and extraordinary character, while Bai Yi is almost like his devoted fanboy. This contrast created an interesting tension that kept me wanting more. The world-building is definitely a strong point. The author does a great job of creating a believable and immersive supernatural world filled with unique creatures and power systems, like the evolution of the Blood Sprites. Seeing Zhan Yi slowly start to care for Bai Yi, even if subtly, was genuinely heartwarming.

It feels like the author intended to continue it with a sequel, "Tales of the Palace of Blood," but it seems that sequel may never materialize, or at least is very difficult to find. This cliffhanger ending is incredibly frustrating, especially given how invested I became in the characters and the overarching mystery. It feels like a decade has passed without any real resolution, which leaves a lingering sense of dissatisfaction.
