What will you do when you wake up and find that you have transmigrated into a book? And what if you have transmigrated as a villainess? Qin Zhizhi falls down in front of the male and female leads. She hugs the big boss’ legs tightly and complains, “Yuyu, she pushed me.” Lord Yuchen embraces her and warns everyone in the imperial capital that her body is very delicate and weak, and can be blown down by the wind! No one can speak loudly in front of her! Nobody shall stand beside her to pollute the air she breathes! One day, a lot of people witness how she is being bullied by a group of b*tches and they all want to go and help her. But who knows that she will suddenly put her hands on her hips and scold those b*tches? As a result, those b*tches shrink their necks and dare not to move. My Thoughts on She Became a Villainess
I went into "She Became a Villainess" with a healthy dose of curiosity, given its tags and the promise of a transmigration story with a comedic edge. The premise, a modern woman forced into a marriage and deciding to fight back, certainly piqued my interest. However, my reading experience was... mixed, to say the least.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the female lead's sass and the potential for a clever revenge plot. The idea of a villainess turning the tables on her cheating fiancé in a modern setting felt fresh. I was hoping for a story that would subvert the usual tropes and deliver some satisfying payback.
What Works Well
The main draw, and what kept me going for a while, was the FL's colorful way of speaking. Her insults are apparently top-tier, and I can see the appeal of sticking around just to witness her verbal takedowns. Some readers seem to appreciate the satirical nature of the novel, viewing it as a commentary on common tropes found in similar stories. The FL's "badass" backstory also seemed to be a point of intrigue for some, making them curious about what was to come.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, several issues detracted from my enjoyment. The plot felt stretched and riddled with unnecessary arcs, making the story drag on longer than it needed to. The logic within the story also felt flimsy, especially regarding the FL's inability to escape a forced marriage in a modern setting with legal recourse available. Furthermore, the presence of sexist characters and potentially homophobic dialogues are significant red flags that made it difficult to fully invest in the story. The existence of an overly precocious child character also didn't sit well with me.

Final Verdict
While "She Became a Villainess" might offer some amusement through its satirical elements and the FL's sharp tongue, the numerous flaws, including plot inconsistencies, potentially problematic content, and a drawn-out narrative, ultimately make it a difficult recommendation. Unless you're specifically looking for a satirical take on villainess tropes and can stomach the issues, there are likely better options available. I'd give it a tentative 2/5 stars.
