First Impressions
The initial chapters were definitely the strongest. The setup of the time loop and the dynamic between the main character (MC) and her senior sister (FL) immediately grabbed my attention. I was curious to understand the history between them and how the MC would navigate their complicated relationship this time around.
What Works Well
The core concept of the MC being stuck in a loop and trying to change her fate is compelling. The author clearly put effort into crafting a world with cultivation elements, and the hints about the MC's mysterious identity are intriguing. This is the reason why I kept reading.
Areas of Concern
However, as the story progressed, I started to see some cracks. The MC's dependence on the FL became a major sticking point for me. I found her constant deference and fear towards the FL frustrating, especially considering her past experiences within the time loop. It felt like her character lacked agency and a real sense of self-preservation. The power scaling within the cultivation system also felt inconsistent. It was difficult to gauge the relative strength of characters at different stages, which weakened the impact of the action scenes.
