The idea of a magical space and the MC's resourcefulness are intriguing hooks that kept me reading for a while. Some found the characters believable, appreciating how children acted like children and parents struggled to do their best.

However, I have some serious reservations. The portrayal of the MC's parents, particularly the father, is deeply frustrating. His inability to stand up for his family, coupled with the mother's seemingly endless capacity for forgiveness towards those who mistreat them, tested my patience.
