First Impressions
The initial chapters immediately pulled me in with their mysterious backstories and captivating introduction. The world-building felt solid, and I was excited to unravel the secrets surrounding the main characters, especially the two leads hiding their true identities. The promise of political maneuvering mixed with wuxia elements was definitely appealing.
What Works Well
The strength of this novel lies in its complex characters and the dynamic between the leads. The female lead is indeed overpowered, but her caring nature makes her relatable. The male lead is a master schemer, and their interactions, from childhood romps to strategic alliances, are fascinating to watch.
