My Thoughts on Pheromone Collision
"Pheromone Collision" promised a fluffy, engaging omegaverse romance, and while it delivered on some fronts, it stumbled a bit in others. I went in expecting a lighthearted read, and that's largely what I got, but with a few caveats.
First Impressions
The premise immediately grabbed me: a clever MC navigating the complexities of an ABO world. I was eager to see how the dynamics would play out, especially with the promise of a "doting" love interest. The initial chapters were intriguing, setting the stage for a potentially captivating story.
What Works Well
The core strength of "Pheromone Collision" lies in its characters. I found the MC to be particularly amusing, with his knack for finding loopholes and outsmarting the ML. Their interactions were often funny and engaging, and I appreciated the slow burn of their relationship. The story is undeniably fluffy and sweet, providing a welcome escape. I also enjoyed the family interactions and the glimpses into their domestic life, especially the extras focusing on their child. The "what if" scenario exploring their childhood was a particularly nice touch.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the translation quality significantly hampered my enjoyment. The inconsistent naming of the MC (Ping/Li/Ji/Fu/Chuang/Xin/Jun/Bo, etc.) was incredibly jarring and disrupted the flow of the story. It became difficult to fully immerse myself when I was constantly second-guessing who was being referred to. The translation issues extended beyond just names. There was a lack of editing and an occasional MTL feel, making it harder to follow the plot at times. This is a shame because the underlying story has potential, but the poor translation obscures it.

Despite its flaws, "Pheromone Collision" ultimately won me over with its charming characters and fluffy romance. If you can overlook the translation issues and focus on the core story, there's a lot to enjoy here. I'd recommend it with the caveat that you might need some patience to navigate the rough patches in the translation.
