My Thoughts on Online Farmer
"Online Farmer" promised a blend of modern-day life with fantasy and supernatural elements, centered around a farming theme and a weak-to-strong protagonist. As a concept, it immediately grabbed my attention. I dove in eager to see how the author would weave these elements together, and while there were some enjoyable aspects, the experience, unfortunately, left me wanting more.
First Impressions
The initial chapters were quite engaging. The idea of a protagonist discovering a magical space to aid his farming ventures felt fresh. I was excited to see how he would leverage this advantage and navigate the challenges of the modern world with a supernatural twist. The early stages of his growth, going from weak to strong, were also compelling.
What Works Well
The farming aspect itself was surprisingly well-executed. The author clearly put thought into the details of agriculture, both mundane and magical. I appreciated the creative ways the protagonist used his newfound abilities to improve his farm and the quality of his produce. The blend of modern life and fantasy elements was interesting, and I think the author did a decent job setting up the premise.
Areas of Concern
However, as the story progressed, several issues began to surface. The ending, in particular, felt rushed and unsatisfying. The climax, which had been built up throughout the story, was resolved far too quickly, leaving many plot threads dangling. I was left with several unanswered questions, which detracted from my overall enjoyment.
Another point of concern was the handling of the protagonist's relationships with female characters. These relationships felt underdeveloped and vague, never truly progressing in a meaningful way. This lack of resolution made those subplots feel ultimately pointless. I also felt like the author relied too heavily on the trope of characters discovering the protagonist's wealth, which became repetitive and predictable. Some plot points also felt illogical and difficult to believe.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Online Farmer" had a lot of potential, and the initial concept was intriguing. However, the rushed ending, underdeveloped relationships, and repetitive plot elements ultimately detracted from the experience. While the farming aspects and the protagonist's initial growth were enjoyable, the story falls short of delivering a truly satisfying conclusion. I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5.
