"Not A Regressor" is a web novel that grabbed my attention with its clever premise. It's a story that plays with the popular regression trope, but with a twist that initially feels refreshing. I went in expecting a typical power fantasy, but I found something a little more nuanced, at least for a while.

His interactions with the female characters, can come across as sleazy and manipulative. The "will they/won't they" dynamic, especially with Ha-eun, feels juvenile for characters supposedly in their late twenties and early thirties. The author introduces new abilities conveniently to get out of situations and also writes in an abundance of racism.

The plot becomes formulaic, the power scaling is inconsistent, and the characters lose some of their initial charm.
