Description

I was ready for a heartwarming and funny ride. The short story format (only 14 chapters!) appealed to me because I knew it wouldn't overstay its welcome. It felt like the perfect palate cleanser between heavier reads.
What Works Well
What I appreciated most was the genuine effort both main characters put into the relationship. Han Xiao Xiao, our female lead, is incredibly considerate and understanding of Jiang Yue Huan's social anxiety. Instead of trying to force him to change, she patiently encourages him and allows him to take the lead in conquering his fears. This felt like a really healthy and realistic approach to the topic, which I admired.
Jiang Yue Huan, despite his anxiety, bravely steps out of his comfort zone to pursue Han Xiao Xiao. His efforts are incredibly endearing. There's a real sense that he values her and doesn't take her understanding for granted. Plus, the humor sprinkled throughout the story is delightful! I found myself chuckling at the antics of Jiang Yue Huan's family, who are apparently quite the comedic bunch. The story is light and airy, making it an easy and enjoyable read. The author did a great job in making the characters feel real and relatable, even with their quirks.
