Right off the bat, the premise is intriguing: an Evil God falling for a human. I went in expecting a certain level of Lovecraftian weirdness, and I wasn't disappointed. The initial chapters are heavy on atmosphere, creating a palpable sense of dread and the unknown. The protagonist's confusion and fear as she grapples with the bizarre events unfolding around her really pulled me in. It felt like a genuine horror story at first, which set the stage for the unconventional romance to come.
What Works Well
The character development, particularly Arke's, is a major highlight. Watching an Eldritch being slowly learn about human emotions and relationships is fascinating. The novel does a great job of portraying this growth, complete with the inevitable mistakes and revelations along the way.
