Description
There was once a Bunny who became a high school teacher after successfully cultivating his human form. Since he took his cultivation very seriously, Bunny was able to conceal his scent perfectly. One day, a new student transferred into Mr. Bunny’s class. This student was a wolf and a student-athlete. He was tall, handsome, and was born into a wealthy family. But he refused to restrain his wolf-nature, and so this boy was aggressive, mischievous, and spent his time on causing trouble instead of studying and cultivating. Wolf’s parents worried so much for their son that their furs have gone white. Because he always goofed off during cultivation, Little Gray Wolf didn’t know how to hide his Scent and Mr. Bunny recognised his true form upon their first meeting. It was impossible for a bunny to overcome his instinctive fear for wolves, so Mr. Bunny was so terrified that his legs turned weak every time he saw the Little Gray Wolf.

My Thoughts on Meeting the Wolf
"Meeting the Wolf" is a completed danmei novel that I recently finished, and it was quite the experience. Overall, I found it to be a lighthearted and fluffy read, perfect for when you're in the mood for something sweet and uncomplicated. I can see why it has a solid 4/5 rating overall. It definitely has its charms.
First Impressions
The initial setup is intriguing: a world where enlightened spirit beasts live alongside humans, mostly unnoticed. Our main character (MC) is a rabbit spirit working as a high school teacher, and the love interest (ML) is a wolf spirit who happens to be one of his students. The premise alone had me hooked! The "straight uke" dynamic is definitely present, which is something to keep in mind if that's not your cup of tea.
What Works Well
The strength of this novel lies in its cute and fluffy interactions between the MC and ML. The ML's persistent pursuit of the MC is both endearing and a little immature, which adds to the comedic charm. I particularly enjoyed how the story handled the parents' reaction to the relationship – a refreshing touch! The world-building, while not extensively detailed, is interesting enough to provide a unique backdrop for the romance. I also appreciated that the characters, while flawed, are fundamentally decent and treat each other with respect. The author has a very whimsical style that I appreciated.
Areas of Concern
One aspect that may not appeal to all readers is the initial unrequited love dynamic. While the ML's persistence eventually pays off, some might find the MC's initial fear and aversion to the ML a bit forced. I also noticed that the dietary habits of the rabbit spirit might bother some readers, especially if you're familiar with rabbit care.

Final Verdict
Despite some minor flaws, "Meeting the Wolf" is a delightful and heartwarming read. If you're looking for a short, fluffy danmei with a cute couple and a touch of fantasy, this might be right up your alley. Just be prepared for some lighthearted fluff and a persistent wolf! I'd recommend it as a palate cleanser between heavier reads or when you just want something to make you smile.
