My Thoughts on Look At Me
"Look At Me" is a novel that definitely left an impression, and it's easy to see why it's garnered such a range of opinions. As an avid web novel reader, I always appreciate a story that tries to break the mold, and this one certainly attempts that, particularly within the ABO genre.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the premise of an Alpha/Beta pairing, a refreshing change from the typical Alpha/Omega dynamic. The set-up of a boss-subordinate relationship also added an extra layer of intrigue. However, some readers might find the beginning a bit slow, as the initial chapters focus heavily on the characters getting to know each other.
What Works Well
One of the biggest strengths of "Look At Me" is its characters. The MC, Heerak, is a charming and caring Alpha who isn't afraid to show his emotions, a welcome departure from the often-cold CEO trope. His journey of self-discovery as he navigates his feelings for a Beta is genuinely heartwarming. Many readers, including myself, found his vulnerability and open communication with Doseon, the ML, to be a highlight. The smut scenes are also well-written and considerate, with a strong emphasis on consent and mutual pleasure. The novel also has a comedic undertone that helps to lighten the mood and balance out the more serious themes.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the overall sweetness of the story, I can understand some of the criticisms. A few readers felt that the ML, Doseon, was underdeveloped and lacked depth. Others pointed out that the plot can feel a bit thin at times, with not much happening outside of the central relationship. Additionally, some found the translation quality to be inconsistent, which detracted from their reading experience. Also, the story focuses almost entirely on the two main characters, with very little exploration of their lives outside the relationship.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Look At Me" is a cute and fluffy romance with some refreshing twists on the ABO genre. While it may not be the most groundbreaking or complex story, it offers a sweet and heartwarming read with well-developed characters and steamy scenes. If you're looking for a lighthearted BL novel with a focus on consent and communication, this one is definitely worth checking out. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
