Description
Traveling to the ancient countryside, with broken houses and walls, no parents, no money, no food in her hands, a large group of s*umbags who want to take advantage of her, as well as a village idiot who wants to marry her. Shen Ruolan is depressed, Hey! What should I do if I am dealt a bad hand? This cold salad is definitely not done, you can only start from scratch. A man with no ethics came to her door in the middle of the night. “Lan’er, we have both slept together and you are still thinking about marrying someone else, do you not want to be responsible?” Shen Ruolan said softly, “You are saying that I slept with you? Where is the evidence?” The sleepy man replied slowly, “Evidence, I have left it in your stomach, and you can see it in nine months !” … Nine months later, the evidence came to fruition, and the man was extremely proud: “Look, the evidence is conclusive, What else do you want say?” Shen Ruo gritted her teeth: “I gave birth to the child. My Thoughts on Li Han’s Little Farmer’s Wife from the Mountains
"Li Han’s Little Farmer’s Wife from the Mountains" is quite the ride, a blend of rural slice-of-life with a dash of political intrigue and romance in ancient China. It's a story of a modern policewoman transmigrating into the body of a poor village girl, Shen Ruolan, armed with a magical space and modern knowledge. While the premise intrigued me, the execution had its ups and downs.
First Impressions
I jumped into this novel expecting a simple farming story, but it quickly became apparent that it was more complex. The initial chapters hooked me with the MC's struggle for survival and her clever use of modern knowledge to improve her circumstances. The promise of a slow-burn romance also piqued my interest.
What Works Well
The MC's resourcefulness is definitely a highlight. I appreciated how she didn't solely rely on her magical space but used her own skills and knowledge to build a better life. The story's detailed descriptions of the setting and characters made it feel immersive. The romance, though controversial, was a central part of the enjoyment. The slow burn between the leads as they learn and grow from one another was well-written. The story has a good balance of slice-of-life and romance.
Areas of Concern
However, I did find some aspects of the story problematic. The plot can meander, and some arcs feel disconnected from the overall narrative. The MC's naivete, despite her background as a policewoman, was frustrating at times. There are also triggering scenes of violence and torture that might not be for everyone. The age gap between the MC and ML may also be a turn off for some readers.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Li Han’s Little Farmer’s Wife from the Mountains" is a mixed bag. It has moments of brilliance, with a strong female lead and a compelling romance, but it's also plagued by inconsistencies and questionable plot choices. If you're looking for a lighthearted farming story, this might not be it. However, if you're willing to overlook its flaws and enjoy a complex romance with some darker elements, it might be worth a try. I'd give it a 3.5/5.
