It felt like a fun, light read, perfect for when I wanted something engaging but not too heavy.

The episodic nature of the mysteries is definitely a strong point. Each case is self-contained, making it easy to pick up and put down without losing track of the overall plot. I found the cases themselves to be clever enough to hold my attention, and the short format meant they never overstayed their welcome. The character of Koushirou himself is intriguing.
