My Thoughts on Judging You as Pitiful Because You Don’t Know Love
First Impressions
"Judging You as Pitiful Because You Don’t Know Love" certainly grabbed my attention with its unique title. The premise, blending fantasy, romance, and a touch of slice-of-life, held a lot of promise. I dove in hoping for a compelling story about overcoming trauma and finding love, but I quickly realized this novel has some definite strengths and weaknesses.
What Works Well
I found myself drawn to the MC's internal struggles. The story attempts to portray the lingering effects of PTSD after regression, which, when done well, can be incredibly powerful. I appreciated the idea that the MC's denseness stems from genuine feelings of inadequacy rooted in his past experiences. The concept of him believing he's unworthy of the hero's affections because of his perceived shortcomings added a layer of emotional complexity. The author does a decent job of portraying the MC's feelings of unworthiness and how that affects his perception of the ML's affections.
Areas of Concern
However, I also encountered some issues that hindered my enjoyment. The pacing felt uneven, and at times, the narrative seemed to drag. The author focuses more on telling rather than showing. The repetitive nature of certain scenes, particularly the MC's constant apologizing and the ML's excessive eating, became tiresome. I also struggled with the world-building, which felt underdeveloped and lacking in depth.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Judging You as Pitiful Because You Don’t Know Love" has potential, but it needs refinement. The exploration of trauma and self-worth is compelling, but the execution falls short in several areas. While the central relationship has moments of sweetness, the slow pace and repetitive scenes detract from the overall experience. I would recommend this novel with reservations, primarily to readers who enjoy slow-burn romances with flawed characters and are willing to overlook some narrative inconsistencies.
