Description

This story certainly isn't for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for something twisted and engaging, it might just be your cup of tea.
First Impressions
The initial chapters definitely lean heavily into the horror genre. The author paints a vivid, eerie atmosphere that had me hooked from the start. The premise of an artist stumbling upon a powerful, merciless Corpse God in the mountains is intriguing, and the early interactions between the leads are fraught with tension. It's a story that immediately grabs your attention with its unique blend of the macabre and the beautiful.
What Works Well
The world-building is exceptionally well done, with small details carrying significance throughout the story. I particularly enjoyed how the past and present timelines intertwined, revealing crucial information about the characters and their motivations. The plot is engaging, with a strong emphasis on the main couple's development. I found myself rooting for them, even when their relationship was at its most turbulent. The ML is a classic yandere, consumed by his love for the MC, and the lengths he goes to for him are both terrifying and strangely endearing.

There are definitely elements that might not appeal to all readers. The beginning of the relationship is quite rocky, and it involves non-consensual situations that could be triggering. While the story does eventually evolve into something more consensual, it's important to be aware of these themes going in. Some may also find the ending anticlimactic.
