The initial chapters definitely piqued my interest. The setting, a snow-covered land rife with conspiracies, immediately grabbed my attention. I was intrigued by the exiled prince and the prophecies surrounding him, giving off a sort of ancient Greek myth vibe that I personally enjoy. The idea of a reluctant hero being pushed toward his destiny is a trope I often find compelling.
What Works Well
I appreciated the author's writing style, particularly the vivid descriptions. Several scenes painted clear pictures in my mind, making it easier to get lost in the world. The themes of conspiracy, revenge, and even love, woven into the narrative, added layers of depth that kept me engaged. The translation quality also stood out, making for a smooth and enjoyable reading experience. The initial setup, with Leng Xi becoming king in the first chapter, definitely made me curious about the journey that led him there.
