Okay, so I dove into I Really Don’t Want to Open a Harem Here with a healthy dose of curiosity. The premise – a Chinese MC navigating a Japanese all-girls school and somehow stumbling into a harem – definitely piqued my interest. I went in expecting a certain level of… well, let's just say genre expectations given the tags. It’s a mixed bag, to be honest.
What Works Well
The plot is surprisingly engaging. The MC finds himself constantly rescuing these girls from compromising situations, which definitely gives the story a driving force. It has a bit of a fanfic feel. And while I can see how that might turn some readers off, there's an undeniable appeal to seeing familiar tropes twisted and turned. The story also moves at a good pace, and I never felt like things were dragging.
Areas of Concern
