My Thoughts on I Picked Up an Abandoned Villain in the Polar Region
This novel was quite the journey, and I'm glad I took the time to read it. "I Picked Up an Abandoned Villain in the Polar Region" offers a unique take on the villain redemption arc, and I found myself thoroughly invested in the characters and their growth.
First Impressions
Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect. The premise seemed interesting, but I've been burned by similar stories before. I was quickly drawn in by the dynamic between Brody, the "shameless" rabbit protagonist, and Kyle, the actual villain. I found the early chapters to be somewhat frustrating because of Kyle's behavior, but knew to trust the process and see where the story would take them.
What Works Well
The character development is definitely the strongest aspect of this novel. Kyle isn't just a misunderstood softie; he's genuinely flawed and makes terrible choices. Watching him slowly confront his past and grow into a better person felt earned and realistic. Brody, on the other hand, is a ray of sunshine. Her unwavering kindness and determination to help Kyle, even when he's being a jerk, is truly admirable. I also appreciated the world-building, with its diverse beastmen species and unique magical elements. It added a layer of depth and immersion to the story. The romance, while not the sole focus, is a satisfying slow burn. It stems from their shared experiences and mutual growth, making it all the more rewarding.
Areas of Concern
If I had to nitpick, I would say that the ending felt a bit rushed. I would have loved to see more of Kyle and Brody's life together after their adventure. A few more side stories or epilogue chapters would have been welcome. I also agree that the world-building could have been more fleshed out. Some aspects of the world and the MC's background felt a bit underdeveloped.

Overall, "I Picked Up an Abandoned Villain in the Polar Region" is a heartwarming and engaging novel with well-developed characters and a compelling story. Despite a few minor flaws, it's a worthwhile read for anyone who enjoys character-driven stories with a touch of fantasy and romance. I'd highly recommend it!
