Description

My Thoughts on HIStory2: Right or Wrong
First Impressions
Okay, so I dove into "HIStory2: Right or Wrong" with a bit of curiosity and a whole lot of hope. I'm always on the lookout for a good BL story, especially one that promises a bit of heart and maybe even a cute kiddo thrown into the mix. The premise of a college student becoming a nanny for a cynical professor's daughter definitely piqued my interest.
What Works Well
What immediately grabbed me was the focus on family. The idea of Fei Sheng Zhe slotting into Shi Yi Jie and Yoyo's lives and becoming an integral part of their little unit is incredibly heartwarming. I can totally see why many readers would fall in love with the dynamic between the three. The "found family" trope is a classic for a reason, and it sounds like this story executes it well. The idea of Yoyo eventually calling them "my two dads" is just… chef's kiss. It's the kind of scene that's designed to pull at your heartstrings. I also appreciate that the story seems to have a relatively low angst level, with any conflicts being resolved by the end. Sometimes, I just want a feel-good story, and this seems to deliver on that front. The dynamic between Fei Sheng Zhe and Shi Yi Jie also sounds compelling, with Shi Yi Jie challenging Fei Sheng Zhe and Fei Sheng Zhe providing the missing "mother" figure.
Areas of Concern
While the overall sentiment seems positive, I do have a slight reservation. One reviewer mentioned that the male lead lacked facial expressions in the drama adaption. While this comment refers to the drama and not the novel, it does make me wonder if the characters' emotions are conveyed effectively in the written version.
