My Thoughts on Haroon

"Haroon" is a VRMMORPG novel that definitely sparked my curiosity, especially since I heard whispers of it being a top contender in Korea. After diving in, I found myself with mixed feelings, but ultimately, I think it's a novel with a lot of potential that might not be for everyone.

First Impressions

The initial setup is intriguing. I appreciated that the main character, Haroon, isn't some reincarnated genius or hidden OP character. He starts from scratch in a gritty, post-apocalyptic world, and that underdog aspect really drew me in. The early chapters paint a picture of a hard-working individual trying to make a name for himself, which is a refreshing change from some of the more cookie-cutter VR protagonists out there.

What Works Well

Many readers praised the detailed VR world and its mechanics, and I have to agree. The game feels immersive, and the interactions between Haroon and the NPCs are well-developed, reminiscent of titles like "Legendary Moonlight Sculptor." This change felt inconsistent and detracted from my overall enjoyment. Additionally, I've seen some concern about how Haroon treats his pet, Brat, with some finding his actions distasteful.
