My Thoughts on Genius Blacksmith’s Game
I've been diving into the world of "Genius Blacksmith’s Game," and I have to say, it's been a mixed bag. While it offers some enjoyable elements, there are also aspects that held it back from being a truly great read for me.
First Impressions
Let's be honest, the initial setup is pretty familiar. We've got a protagonist down on his luck who finds an escape and a path to success through a VR game. While the premise itself isn't revolutionary, the focus on blacksmithing as the core profession definitely piqued my interest. I was ready to see how the author would make something unique out of a seemingly niche craft.
What Works Well
The main draw for me, and what kept me reading, is the protagonist's journey. He's a hard-working guy, and it's satisfying to watch him achieve his goals, even if those achievements sometimes feel a bit too easy. The pace of the story is also quite good, making it easy to binge-read and get caught up in the excitement. Plus, I found the main character to be more likeable than some others in similar stories. His dedication is palpable, and it's easy to root for him. I also enjoyed the game elements of the story.
Areas of Concern
However, I can't ignore some of the criticisms I have. The biggest issue for me is the heavy reliance on plot armor. Things just seem to conveniently fall into place for the protagonist whenever he needs them, which can make the story feel less organic and more contrived. I also felt that the world-building could be stronger. The premise that blacksmithing is a dying art felt underdeveloped, and I wish the author had explored that aspect more deeply. There were times I felt that the story was too focused on the protagonist's awesomeness, rather than the world around him.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Genius Blacksmith’s Game" is a decent read if you're looking for a lighthearted and entertaining story with an overpowered protagonist. However, be prepared to overlook some plot conveniences and underdeveloped world-building. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars. It's a fun time sink, but it's not a story that will likely stick with me long after I finish reading.
