As someone who enjoys stories with strong female leads and a touch of romance, I was eager to see what this one offered. While it had some appealing aspects, it ultimately fell a bit short of my expectations.

The premise is definitely intriguing. A determined female protagonist navigating the competitive entertainment industry while finding love? Sign me up! The tags – celebrities, handsome male lead, love triangles – all pointed towards a classic, potentially addictive romance. I dove in hoping for a story that would sweep me off my feet.
What Works Well
The story moves at a decent pace, and it's easy to get caught up in the initial drama surrounding the main character. The romantic elements are present, and if you enjoy a bit of a love triangle, this novel delivers. I appreciated the focus on a female protagonist with a specific skill set (makeup artistry), which offered a glimpse into a world I wasn't particularly familiar with.

However, as I continued reading, some aspects started to feel a little…flat. I think the biggest letdown was the lack of depth in the portrayal of the makeup artistry itself. However, if you're hoping for a deep dive into the artistry of makeup or a particularly original storyline, you might be left wanting more. While it has its moments, it ultimately didn't quite reach its full potential for me.
