It's the kind of quirky setup that immediately sparks interest, and I found myself eager to see where Cyan Wings would take it.

The initial chapters were a blast. I particularly enjoyed the fish-out-of-water scenarios as the MC, Chengge, grappled with modern technology and social norms. His misunderstandings and overly righteous pronouncements, juxtaposed against his intimidating appearance, created some truly laugh-out-loud moments. Watching him evolve from fearing the internet to embracing science to further his martial arts training was a delightful journey.
What Works Well
The humor is definitely a strong point. Cyan Wings has a knack for creating smart and funny characters, and Chengge is no exception. His dedication to doing good, even if driven by a selfish desire to maintain his human form, raises interesting philosophical questions. The author also cleverly incorporates the relationship between Chengge and Qu Lian. I appreciated that their romance progressed quickly and without unnecessary drama. The ongoing "sword and sheath" innuendo, while potentially repetitive, consistently managed to elicit a chuckle from me.
Areas of Concern
While the initial novelty was captivating, I can see how the repetitive nature of certain scenes might wear thin for some readers. The formula of the MC shocking everyone with his strength and righteousness, while initially amusing, could become predictable over time. I can understand how the constant PDA between the MC and ML might feel overdone after a while.
