"Endless Mountains of Spring" promised a sweet escape, and for the most part, it delivered. With a solid 4.3/5 rating, I was eager to dive into this xianxia romance, and I found myself charmed by its world and characters.
First Impressions
The initial description piqued my interest, particularly the "pure girl gong" aspect. I confess, I was a little confused, but I soon realized that the description was a bit misleading. The MC is definitely the cooler, more experienced one, while the ML is younger, more innocent, and, yes, a bit of a crybaby. This role reversal was actually quite refreshing and added a unique dynamic to their relationship.
What Works Well
The heart of this story lies in its sweetness and the devotion between the main characters. The plot explores some interesting themes, particularly the idea of characters experiencing the consequences of their actions. The ML's reaction to the possibility of losing the MC is compelling, highlighting the depth of his feelings and hinting at a potential for darker developments. The HE ending was a welcome relief.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the overall story, I did find myself wishing for more "fluff." The plot touches upon some heavier themes, and a bit more lightheartedness would have balanced things out nicely. I also felt that the story could have benefited from a bit more exploration of the world and cultivation aspects.
