The premise immediately grabbed me: a transmigration story where the female lead, a top pharmacist, is left for dead and rises from the ashes to become a force to be reckoned with. The initial setup, with her hidden recipes, amazing potions, and the slow burn romance with the male lead (disguised as a black kitty!), was incredibly promising. I was definitely hooked and ready for a long, enjoyable ride.
What Works Well
The early parts of the story are genuinely entertaining. I loved watching the FL build her potion store and use her skills to help others. The tension surrounding the male lead's true identity as a beastkin was well-done, and I was invested in their budding relationship. I also appreciated the translator's work in making the story accessible and enjoyable to read.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the novel suffers from a rushed ending. The pacing accelerates dramatically towards the end, and several plot points feel underdeveloped. The characters she helps early on in the story disappear without a trace, and the potion store storyline is abruptly abandoned. The introduction and resolution of the ultimate villain felt hasty and unsatisfying. I was left wanting more depth and development in these areas.
