My Thoughts on Cohen of the Rebellion
I dove into "Cohen of the Rebellion" with a mix of excitement and trepidation, given its ambitious scope – a blend of action, fantasy, martial arts, and xuanhuan, all wrapped up in a tale of rebellion. It’s a completed series in its original language, which is always a plus, but the ongoing translation has left me with some mixed feelings.
First Impressions
The initial chapters are definitely a slow burn. I found myself immersed in world-building and character introductions, which, while detailed, felt a bit like wading through molasses. The story takes its time setting the stage, and the main character doesn't really take center stage until much later than I expected. It's a different approach than many reincarnation stories where the MC is immediately kicking ass, but I did appreciate the depth of the world-building.
