My Thoughts on Bent This Way
"Bent This Way" is a QT (Quick Transmigration) novel that definitely scratches a particular itch. It's a breezy read, full of familiar tropes and satisfying moments that kept me turning the page, even when things got a little… intense. While it might not be a groundbreaking literary masterpiece, it delivers on its promise of an entertaining and emotionally charged ride.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the premise: a seemingly straight MC bending over backwards (sometimes literally, it seems) to capture his target, the ML, across different worlds. The short chapters made it easy to devour the story in bite-sized pieces, and the early arcs were especially captivating. I found myself quickly invested in the MC's antics and the unfolding dynamics with the ML.
What Works Well
The novel excels at creating dramatic and emotionally charged scenarios. There's a certain guilty pleasure aspect to the hurt/comfort and even "whump" elements, which the author executes effectively. I appreciated the diverse world settings and the unique challenges each arc presented. The MC's dedication to his task, even when it meant compromising his own values, created compelling internal conflict. Also, the ease of MTL (machine translation) for the raw chapters is a definite plus for those who want to get ahead of the translation.
Areas of Concern
While the early arcs were a strong point, I did find that the longer arcs later in the story started to drag. The pacing felt uneven, and some plot points felt a bit tedious. The ending also felt somewhat rushed, leaving me wanting a bit more closure. I also noticed the MC's willingness to endure significant abuse for favorability points might not sit well with all readers. It definitely requires a suspension of disbelief and a tolerance for morally gray situations.

Final Verdict
"Bent This Way" is a solid 3.5/5 star QT novel. It's a fun, albeit sometimes flawed, read that's sure to appeal to fans of the genre. If you're looking for a lighthearted story with plenty of drama, romance, and a dash of questionable ethics, this might be right up your alley. Just be prepared for a few bumpy patches along the way.
