The initial chapters drew me in with the promise of a sweet romance between the main characters. The premise of a "love at first sight" scenario, especially with the male lead falling first, is always appealing. I was excited to see how their relationship would blossom amidst the challenges of the era.
What Works Well
The undeniable strength of this novel lies in the dynamic between the main couple. I found their interactions genuinely funny and sweet, especially as their relationship deepened. The "healing component" of their romance was a definite highlight, offering a comforting and engaging element. I also appreciated the initial focus on family life, which added depth and warmth to the story.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, my enjoyment waned as the story progressed. I felt the author became overly focused on the protagonist's business ventures, dedicating multiple chapters to each new enterprise.
