There's a transmigration/rebirth element that adds another layer, but it's handled in a way that feels more like a second chance than a complete transformation of the character. I was immediately curious to see how the author would navigate such complex themes.

What Works Well

What I appreciated most was the pragmatism of the female lead. Li Zhi isn't a damsel in distress, nor is she suddenly a genius strategist. She uses her beauty and wit to survive in a world where she has very little power. Many readers praised this aspect, noting that she's a refreshing change from the often-naive heroines in similar stories. The male lead, General Pei, is also a strong point.
