It's the perfect blend of bizarre and intriguing, and I was definitely in the mood for something fluffy and fun. The tags – comedy, fantasy, slice of life, yaoi – sealed the deal. I went in expecting a lighthearted romp, and for the most part, that's exactly what I got.
What Works Well
The sheer cuteness is off the charts. The protagonist, Wei Yuan, as a cat, is utterly adorable, and the various other animal characters only amplify that. I especially enjoyed the author's portrayal of the male lead. Apparently, his mild autism is portrayed with a refreshing realism, showing his unique traits in a way that feels both genuine and endearing. Honestly, my biggest concern is simply that the story is too short! At only 51 main chapters, it feels like there's so much more to explore. I was left wanting more of Wei Yuan's adorable antics and the development of his relationship.
