Description
“Do you know? Taking advantage of someone when they’re weak is a really dirty trick.” Kangju’s low voice seeped into her ear. Kangju’s hand touched her cheek. His large, firm palm brushed against Jaehee’s flushed cheek and wiped away her wet tears. “Pretending to comfort someone who’s crying and hitting on them is a really mean thing to do.” Jaehee closed her eyes. She felt a tongue licking away the tear that had fallen. She shrugged her shoulders at the chilly sensation. His lips, slowly descending down her cheek, were unbelievably gentle. When she carefully opened her eyes, she saw Kangju’s face, blurred through her tears. Jaehee murmured towards him as if confessing, “I… I like dirty and mean things.”

My Thoughts on Untouchable
"Untouchable" promised a rollercoaster of emotions, and boy, did it deliver. Diving into this novel, I was immediately struck by the depth of the characters and the intricate web of their pasts. It's a story that lingers with you long after you've turned the final page, exploring themes of trauma, love, and the messy journey of healing.
First Impressions
At first glance, the premise might seem like familiar territory: a traumatized rich male lead and a seemingly "poor" female lead. However, "Untouchable" quickly distinguishes itself through its well-developed characters and the realistic portrayal of their struggles. The story is told through lengthy chapters, which allow you to truly immerse yourself in the world and become invested in the characters' journeys.
What Works Well
The character development in "Untouchable" is a major strength. Both leads are compelling and complex, shaped by their individual traumas. Their relationship development is a slow burn, fueled by intense pining and misunderstandings. The author does a fantastic job of portraying the male lead's internal conflict, as he battles his desires with the fear of scaring the female lead away. The spicy scenes are also well-written and add another layer of depth to their relationship. The plot moves at a good pace, incorporating time skips and office politics to keep things interesting. Despite the presence of clichés, the story manages to feel fresh and engaging, due to the author's skillful writing.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed "Untouchable," the abundance of misunderstandings did become a bit frustrating at times. There were moments where I wanted to shake the characters and urge them to communicate more effectively. Additionally, the female lead's mother could have used more development. It's also worth noting that the translation is occasionally rough around the edges, but it doesn't detract too much from the overall reading experience.

Final Verdict
Despite a few minor drawbacks, "Untouchable" is a worthwhile read. The strong character development, steamy scenes, and exploration of complex themes make it a memorable romance novel. If you enjoy stories with emotionally damaged characters, intense pining, and satisfying resolutions, I highly recommend giving "Untouchable" a try. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
