My Thoughts on There Are No Bad Transcendents in the World
"There Are No Bad Transcendents in the World" is a novel that definitely grabbed my attention, and while it has some undeniable strengths, it also has a few areas that kept me from fully falling in love with it. It's a unique story with an interesting premise, but the execution isn't always perfect.
First Impressions
The initial chapters hooked me with the promise of a strong female lead and a complicated relationship dynamic. Frey, the MC, is definitely not a damsel in distress, which I appreciated. The male lead, Daniel, initially comes across as a bit cold, but the story hints at a deeper, more complex character beneath the surface. I was eager to see how their relationship would develop, especially with the added element of future sight on the ML's end.
What Works Well
The strength of this novel lies in its main character, Frey. She's smart, capable, and not afraid to get her hands dirty to achieve her goals. I particularly enjoyed her petty revenge schemes – there's something incredibly satisfying about a protagonist who isn't afraid to be a little ruthless. The dynamic between Frey and Daniel, while sometimes frustrating, is also compelling. The gradual shift in Daniel's feelings, from aversion to something deeper, is well-paced, even if his possessiveness occasionally borders on the excessive. The children in the story, particularly the transcendent twins, add a layer of sweetness and complexity. Their struggles and development are genuinely heartwarming. Also, I really loved the father figure in this story, he truly deserves an award for being such a great dad.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the translation quality is a significant issue. It's often clunky, with pronoun errors and awkward sentence structures that make it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story. This really detracted from my reading experience, and I found myself having to reread passages multiple times to understand what was happening. Additionally, some of the plot points felt rushed or underdeveloped. The political and economic aspects of the story, while present, sometimes felt like a slog, and I longed for more personal moments between the characters.

Final Verdict
Overall, "There Are No Bad Transcendents in the World" is a mixed bag. It has a compelling protagonist, an intriguing premise, and some genuinely heartwarming moments. However, the poor translation and occasional pacing issues hold it back from reaching its full potential. If you're willing to overlook the translation problems, there's a lot to enjoy here, but be prepared for some frustrations along the way. I'd give it a tentative 3.5 out of 5 stars.
