She needed to stop the one responsible for starting the Continental War, and survive! “What is required?” “Let go.” “Tell me what you want! No, what you need! Whatever it takes, I won’t allow you to start a war!” The moment she grabbed that man’s pant leg and looked up him, looking back at her were his eyes, as deep as an abyss. “Once you say something, you have to take responsibility for it, Princess.” Will she be able to protect the peace of the world from this man and survive safely?

My Thoughts on The Princess Wants to Live
The Princess Wants to Live definitely grabbed my attention with its intriguing premise: a princess repeatedly reincarnated, each time meeting a tragic end at the hands of the same man. Now, in her fourth life, she's determined to break the cycle.
First Impressions
The initial chapters are a whirlwind. We're thrown into the deep end with a protagonist who, despite her past traumas, chooses a rather... direct approach. Some might find her bluntness refreshing, others, like myself, might raise an eyebrow at her strategy of confronting her would-be killer head-on. I get the feeling she's trying to mask her fear and trauma with a devil-may-care attitude, but I'm not entirely convinced it's the smartest plan.
What Works Well
The darkly comedic elements are a major draw. The female lead's desperate attempts to survive, coupled with her interactions with the male lead, create some genuinely funny moments. I also appreciate the depth the story hints at. The male lead, far from being a simple villain, is portrayed as a man trapped and seeking freedom, making him a sympathetic, even pitiable, figure. The artwork included in the translation is also a definite plus, adding another layer of enjoyment to the reading experience. The translator also does an excellent job of bringing the story to life.
Areas of Concern
My main reservation revolves around the female lead's approach. While I understand her desire to live, her methods sometimes feel a bit... naive. I'm hoping the story delves deeper into the psychological impact of her repeated deaths and explores how she grapples with the trauma of her past lives. I also worry about how the author will address the power dynamic and the past trauma inflicted by the male lead, even if it was against his will. It's a delicate issue that requires careful handling.

Final Verdict
Despite my reservations, I'm cautiously optimistic about The Princess Wants to Live. The premise is compelling, the characters have potential, and the comedic elements provide a welcome contrast to the darker themes. If the author can successfully navigate the complex issues of trauma, power dynamics, and character development, this could be a truly exceptional read. I'm eager to see where the story goes and how the princess will ultimately rewrite her fate.
