On a bitterly cold winter night, the man who appeared showed no mercy. A groan escaped her lips. Her pulled-back head tilted sharply. Under the crushing grip so strong it felt as though her scalp might be torn, she could utter nothing but a short scream. “Answer me.” Her vision was completely obscured, and the flow of air around her twisted unnaturally. When the terrified woman fumbled, unable to find where to look, he firmly held her head in place with one hand. On her knees, Ha-yoon rubbed her head against the edge of his thigh and blinked as she looked up at Moo-geon. “Why don’t you do the thing you’re good at?” With a gulp, Ha-yoon held back her tears and asked. “Why… why won’t you cut it for me?” Instead of answering, Moo-geon rubbed the back of her head with his large hand. Because of your father’s debt, I…” Moo-geon tilted Ha-yoon’s head back with the hand holding her. Partially crouching on one knee to meet her gaze, he leaned in close and whispered into her ear. “I bought your misfortune.”
