My Thoughts on Sweetie, Sweetie, Sweetie
Sweetie, Sweetie, Sweetie is a completed web novel that I recently dove into after hearing buzz about its manhwa adaptation. This story promised a blend of drama, fantasy, and romance with a devoted love interest, and while it delivered on some fronts, I found myself with mixed feelings overall.
First Impressions
Initially, I was intrigued by the premise of a reincarnation story set against a European backdrop with royalty. The idea of a male protagonist tasked with saving the world and turning a supporting villain into a hero had me hooked. However, the early chapters felt a little slow. I found myself wanting the main pairing to meet sooner and for the plot to pick up the pace.
What Works Well
The romance, once it gets going, is definitely a highlight. The male lead's transformation from a somewhat hateful, suspicious duke to a doting and boldly affectionate partner is genuinely heartwarming. I especially enjoyed the slow-burn aspect of their relationship, where they took the time to understand each other before fully committing, even after marriage. The story is very interesting and I almost forwent sleep to read the whole thing. The "green flag" nature of their relationship is also a major plus. The characters are likable and the plot that makes use of typical rofan cliche is interesting.
Areas of Concern
Despite the enjoyable romance, I did encounter some areas that held the story back. I felt the emotional depth of the main character could have been explored further. There were moments where his reactions felt shallow, especially considering his backstory. Also, the plot felt rushed towards the end, particularly during the final battle. I think the author could have benefited from expanding on these crucial moments. The sentences always sound too plain and the same goes for its narratives, descriptions and emotional depictions. Like something is always lacking/feels missing when reading because it feels like a typical romance story for teenagers.

Final Verdict
Sweetie, Sweetie, Sweetie is a decent read, especially for those looking for a fluffy, romantic story with a devoted male lead. While it has its flaws in terms of pacing, emotional depth, and plot development, the engaging romance and likable characters make it an enjoyable experience. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
