You will not have to bow down to anyone, and you can dine like a king without ever having to hold your tongue.” Listening to him, Rick began to fall under his spell. Even just imagining it was sweet. The premise alone – selling your soul to become a violin virtuoso – is intriguing, and the story wastes no time diving into the consequences of this decision. It's a bold start that sets the stage for the rollercoaster that follows.
What Works Well
The character dynamics are phenomenal. The chemistry between the human protagonist and the demon is electric, filled with witty banter and simmering tension. I was genuinely invested in their relationship and how it would evolve. The author clearly put a lot of effort into crafting a believable world, grounding the supernatural elements in a well-researched historical setting. From specific social issues to the desserts of the time, the details create a rich and immersive experience. The plot is anything but predictable, keeping me on the edge of my seat.
