Description
She was confident that she had lived a good life doing no wrong, but she found herself as the criminal of a mu*der case. A situation where all the evidence pointed to a single suspect, Shushu. Shushu was eventually imprisoned in Ugwell ‘Female’ prison. “Trust me. I’ll find the real criminal and prove your innocence.” That’s what her childhood friend Edwin said, but life in a tough prison full of criminals was too hard. She needed a ‘prison wife’ to make her life easier. “W-Will you be my prison wife? Please protect me.” “I’m already taken.” “What? By who?!” “Mailbox.” Despite both being women, Shushu even proposed to MiniCat, who controlled the prison, but she received a nonsensical answer. “I don’t want to be the wife of someone who doesn’t even like me.” However, a short while later, the recipient of her impulsive proposal, prisoner ‘MiniCat,’ kissed her. “There’s a rule.” The voice that flew into her ear gave goosebumps. “Close your eyes when you kiss me.” “…….” “And I’ll treat you well.” She was sure at this moment no matter who she would come to kiss in the future, she would never forget her kiss with MiniCat.

Prison Love Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Prison Love
"Prison Love" is definitely a unique read, and I can see why it's garnered some attention. It's a wild ride that blends fantasy, romance, and some seriously mature themes, all wrapped up in a gender-bending package. I went in expecting something different, and I wasn't disappointed.
First Impressions
The initial hook is strong. The premise is intriguing, and I immediately wanted to understand the dynamics between Shushu, Edwin, and the mysterious MiniCat. The setting has a distinctly European vibe, which adds to the atmosphere.
What Works Well
I found the translation to be quite well done, which is always a huge plus. The plot, while sometimes convoluted, kept me engaged. I wanted to know what would happen next, even when I questioned the characters' choices. The world-building, though perhaps not the primary focus, is interesting enough to hold my attention. The relationship dynamics, while complex and morally gray, are undeniably compelling.
Areas of Concern
Shushu's naivete can be frustrating. I sometimes wished she had a bit more agency and common sense. Also, the male leads definitely raise some red flags. Their motivations and actions are questionable, to say the least, and I struggled with their romanticization. The story leans heavily into mature content, which might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Prison Love" is a mixed bag. It's a story with interesting ideas, but I felt like there are some problematic elements. If you're looking for something light and fluffy, this isn't it. However, if you enjoy morally gray characters, dark themes, and aren't afraid of a little (or a lot) of smut, then you might find something to enjoy here. I'd give it a tentative recommendation, but with a strong warning to proceed with caution.
