My Sister Picked up the Male Lead Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on My Sister Picked up the Male Lead
"My Sister Picked up the Male Lead" had me intrigued from the start with its fairytale-esque premise: a female lead living in a monster-filled forest and a male lead cursed by an enemy. The "found family" trope combined with a bit of magic and reincarnation? I was definitely ready to dive in.
First Impressions
Initially, I was charmed by the interactions between Amy and the younger version of Knox. The cuteness factor was definitely high, and the translator seemed to be doing a great job of bringing the story to life, explaining nuances that might be lost in translation. I quickly became invested in their relationship and was eager to see it develop.
What Works Well
The early chapters shine due to the dynamic between the leads. The male lead's dual nature—a clingy, adorable child by day and a cold, almost wolf-like adult by night—creates some truly precious moments. I also appreciated the generally quick pacing; the story moves along without feeling overly drawn out. The female lead's interactions with the adult Knox, especially how she handles his lack of common sense, were particularly enjoyable.
Areas of Concern
However, as I read further, some cracks began to appear. I noticed some inconsistencies in the female lead's actions and motivations. Her constant internal struggle of wanting to stay away from the male lead while simultaneously seeking him out felt a bit illogical and frustrating. I started to question the logic behind some of the plot developments, and some character actions seemed to lack sufficient motivation. The introduction of certain plot points felt abrupt and somewhat random.

Final Verdict
"My Sister Picked up the Male Lead" has a lot of potential, and the initial chapters are undeniably charming. However, be prepared for some potential plot holes and character inconsistencies that might test your patience. While the cute interactions and interesting premise initially drew me in, some of the later developments and character choices prevented me from fully embracing the story. Overall, it's a mixed bag, but could be enjoyable if you're willing to overlook some flaws.
