My Thoughts on Kitsch Attack
"Kitsch Attack" definitely took me for a ride! With its blend of school life, romance, and mature themes, I went in expecting one thing and came out with something quite different. This omegaverse story, with its "fated lovers" and "childhood friends" tropes, definitely has its own unique flavor.
First Impressions
Initially, I was a little unsure of the dynamic between the main characters. The "bickering couple" tag felt a little off, as it seemed to lean more towards a somewhat toxic relationship where one character was a bit of a jerk and the other a doormat. But as I delved deeper, I started to appreciate the complexities and nuances of their relationship.
What Works Well
The character development is a major strength. The male lead, in particular, surprised me. What starts as a seemingly cocksure attitude slowly peels away to reveal his genuine motivations and inner struggles. The author does a great job of showing his vulnerability, which ultimately made me root for him. I also found the MC's internal conflict surrounding his identity as an omega, especially given his family's expectations, to be a compelling aspect of the story. It added a layer of depth beyond the typical omegaverse plot. The exploration of societal pressures and the courage it takes to be true to oneself felt very relevant and well-executed. The smut scenes are also well-written and add to the overall narrative, instead of feeling gratuitous.
Areas of Concern
While I ultimately enjoyed the story, I can see where some readers might struggle. The initial power imbalance between the leads can be off-putting, and it takes time for their relationship to evolve into something more balanced and healthy. It's also true that at times, the MC's naivete and reluctance to acknowledge his feelings could be frustrating.

Despite my minor reservations, "Kitsch Attack" is a worthwhile read. The character development, exploration of identity, and overall sweetness of the romance won me over. If you're looking for an omegaverse story with depth and heart, I recommend giving this one a try. Just be prepared for a bit of a bumpy start!
