"I Took the Main Character’s Sister at the Start, Now the Heroine is Full of Regret?" definitely leans into some well-worn tropes of the revenge-harem genre, and whether you'll enjoy it seems to depend heavily on your tolerance for those tropes. I went in expecting a certain level of… shall we say, "trashiness," and I wasn’t entirely disappointed.
First Impressions
The premise is definitely eye-catching. Our protagonist, wronged and betrayed, decides to strike back by targeting the main character's sister. It’s a bold move, and it immediately sets the stage for a story filled with conflict and, presumably, regret. However, the execution is where things get a little more complicated.
What Works Well
I'll admit, there were moments where I genuinely laughed. The author has a knack for comedic timing, and some of the protagonist's schemes are genuinely clever and satisfying to witness. The "antihero protagonist" tag is definitely accurate, and his charisma, however twisted, is undeniable.
