My Thoughts on I Became The Male Lead’s Female Friend
"I Became The Male Lead’s Female Friend" promised a cute and comedic reincarnation story, and while it delivers on some fronts, I found myself a bit conflicted overall. There are definitely enjoyable elements, but some frustrating character choices held it back from being a truly great read for me.
First Impressions
The initial chapters were charming. The premise of a daycare teacher reincarnating as the male lead's childhood friend had a lot of potential. I was drawn in by the early interactions and the promise of a fluffy, heartwarming story. The childhood dynamic was definitely a hook, and I was eager to see how the relationship between the leads would develop.
What Works Well
I appreciated the lightheartedness and the focus on the early friendship between the main characters. The story shines when it embraces the "cute" factor. The female lead's resourcefulness, particularly in using her knowledge to change events from the original novel, was also a highlight. I especially liked the parts where she uses her knowledge to prevent her father's death and create medicine to help people, and I found the side characters to be interesting and well-developed.
Areas of Concern
My main issue lies with the female lead's decision-making. Despite supposedly retaining her adult intelligence, she often resorts to childish schemes and avoids direct communication, leading to frustrating misunderstandings. This felt inconsistent with her background and made it difficult to connect with her at times. The way she handles conflict felt unnecessarily drawn out. The immaturity became a significant hurdle for me, especially when I expected a more rational approach from someone with her past experiences.

Final Verdict
"I Became The Male Lead’s Female Friend" has its moments of charm and cuteness, and it's easy to see why some readers adore it. However, the female lead's inconsistent behavior and reliance on childish schemes ultimately detracted from my overall enjoyment. If you're looking for a light, fluffy read with a focus on childhood friendships and don't mind some frustrating character choices, this might be worth a try. Otherwise, there might be better options out there.
