The protagonist, a young orphan reborn with a wish for loving parents, finds himself in various fantastical scenarios, each offering a new father figure. The initial chapters, particularly those focused on the animal forms and early bonding, set a charming tone that carries throughout. I was immediately drawn in by the promise of pure, unadulterated fluff.
What Works Well
The core strength of this novel lies in its ability to create incredibly endearing parent-child relationships. The interactions are genuinely heartwarming, and the author excels at portraying the doting nature of the parental figures. Some of my favorite arcs include the Black Dragon, Zombie Emperor, Siren, and Polar Bear scenarios. Each arc presents a unique dynamic and allows for plenty of adorable moments. The plots themselves, while not the primary focus, are engaging enough to keep the story moving forward. I especially loved the Siren and Mermaid arc, as well as the Zombie Emperor one, as they perfectly blend the fantastical with the familial.
