Description
Grace Gurton has been harboring a one-sided love for months. The object of her affection is Richard Spencer, the Young Earl of Spencer. Heir to the Spencer family, an aristocracy older than the royal family itself and standing at the king’s side, and Captain of the Rugby Club at Christ Church College. The embodiment of refined, aristocratic elegance. Impeccably perfect attire. A masculine and handsome face, combined with a towering height that stands out anywhere. A rugged and god-like ferocity on display during rugby matches, as though the god of war himself has descended. From afar, Richard Spencer appeared flawless. At least, until Grace received an adoption proposal from Lady Mary Montague, Richard’s aunt. And until she discovered the reality of Richard Spencer, a self-centered narcissist who seems to live as though the world revolves around him.

My Thoughts on Grace in Wonderland
"Grace in Wonderland" is a novel that took me on a bit of a rollercoaster. With a 3.5/5 rating, I went in expecting something decent, and I wasn't entirely disappointed, but neither was I blown away. It has its charms, but also some significant drawbacks.
First Impressions
Initially, the story felt a little slow. I found myself a bit bored during the first few chapters as the characters and setting were established. However, around chapter 30, things started to pick up, and I became more invested in the plot. The "academy" setting, combined with the "anti-magic" element, definitely added a unique flavor.
What Works Well
One of the strongest aspects of this novel is its characters. Both Grace and Richard are flawed individuals who undergo significant growth throughout the story. I particularly appreciated Richard's journey. He starts as a rather typical arrogant aristocrat, but the author does a good job of showing him learning and evolving, even if some found it insufficient. The novel also explores the class gap between nobles and commoners in a thoughtful way.
I also found the author's writing style to be quite engaging. The use of metaphors, symbolism, and similes added depth to the story, even if some of the references were initially confusing, they ultimately enriched the reading experience. The humor was also a definite highlight, with several moments that made me laugh out loud. Sebastian, the wingman, deserves a special mention for his comedic contributions!
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed many aspects of the story, some issues held it back. Some readers may find the extensive descriptions unnecessary and that the story leans heavily on misunderstandings as a plot device, which can become frustrating.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Grace in Wonderland" is a decent read with well-developed characters and a unique writing style. While it has some flaws, the character growth, humor, and exploration of class differences make it an enjoyable experience. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a lighthearted fantasy romance with a touch of classic English literature flair.
