Description
I was a bottom-rung corporate s*ave who died during my third playthrough of a bug-infested RPG—and somehow got reincarnated into the game world. Not just anywhere, but as a disposable mob character in the starter village that gets roasted by demons right at the beginning. I don’t want to die. So I decided to use every exploit and bug I knew to live freely and selfishly. But… for some reason, all the harem heroines who were supposed to fall for the protagonist… are starting to fall for me instead? “Hey, Mobu. Now that it’s just the two of us… what should we do next?” “Well, Ran, first let’s raid the village warehouse for supplies. Then we can take our time figuring out how we’ll live—just the two of us.” “You’re so dependable, Mobu.” “Hey, if you cling to me like that, I can’t walk.” “Ehehe, sorry…” …She’s seriously cute. Ran—the main heroine—is already totally into me. With her by my side, I’m going to start over and live a new life in this world. The blessed protagonist can go walk his golden path, defeat the Demon King and do his hero thing. I’ll do me—take it easy and live however I want. Sorry, bro. I’m stealing your party. Turns out, everyone likes hanging out with me more anyway. This is the story of a man who reincarnates as a disposable mob but refuses to give up on life—and ends up breaking the entire worldline by living true to himself. Fate is something you can change with your own hands.

My Thoughts on From Instant-Death Mob to Unexpected Hero — I Just Wanted a Chill Life Using Cheat Glitches, but Somehow the Protagonist’s Entire Harem Followed Me?! Hey, Go Be the Hero and Defeat the Demon King—I’m Gonna Take It Easy
Okay, so I dove into "From Instant-Death Mob..." with a healthy dose of skepticism, that title is a lot. The premise – reincarnated guy using game knowledge for a chill life, only to get dragged into harem shenanigans – is pretty standard fare, but sometimes standard fare is exactly what I'm in the mood for. Did this deliver? Well, it’s complicated.
First Impressions
The initial chapters were a bit rough around the edges. The setup felt rushed, and the logic of the world was questionable. Things seemed to happen because the plot demanded it, not because they organically flowed from the established rules. It felt more like a summary than a fully fleshed-out narrative.
What Works Well
I can see the appeal. The wish fulfillment is strong. Who doesn't want to exploit glitches and have a group of adoring heroines follow them around? There's a certain charm to the protagonist's desire for a laid-back life, even if he's not particularly proactive about achieving it. The slow burn of the harem forming is also a plus if that's your thing.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the inconsistencies really started to grate on me. The world-building feels flimsy and the plot contrivances pile up quickly. The MC's supposed "game knowledge" feels conveniently selective, appearing only when the story needs it. It feels like the author is more interested in hitting certain plot points than crafting a believable world. One of the biggest issues I found was the lack of any coherent logic in the school system. The entrance exam and ranking system seemed completely arbitrary, and the reasons for the MC's placement in the lowest class were baffling.

Final Verdict
"From Instant-Death Mob..." has the potential to be a fun, escapist read, but it's currently hampered by weak world-building, plot inconsistencies, and a somewhat uninspired execution of the harem trope. If you're willing to overlook these flaws for some lighthearted wish fulfillment, you might find something to enjoy. However, if you're looking for a tightly written, logically consistent story, you might want to look elsewhere. For me, it lands at a generous 2.5 out of 5 stars.
