Like melting ice dripping onto the budding new leaves of spring, his tears left indelible marks on Isaac’s letter. “Where is he?” “…….” “Find him.” “Immediately.” Kaindel finally crumbled. In the place where his arrogance shattered, a deep regret settled in. It was a perfect despair.

Initially, I was intrigued by the premise. A hero, a lover, and a looming sense of betrayal – it had all the makings of a captivating read. However, I quickly encountered the issue that seems to plague many readers: the extensive flashbacks. The story dives deep into the past relationship between the MC and ML, and while some appreciate the context, others find it jarring and detrimental to the pacing.
What Works Well
Despite the issues, "Farewell to the Hero" does have its strengths. The characters, though flawed, are compelling. The ML is a complex figure, and I found the exploration of his internal struggles and his often-clumsy attempts at affection to be intriguing.
