My Thoughts on Everyone Else is a Regressor
"Everyone Else is a Regressor" is quite the rollercoaster ride! I went in expecting a typical regression story, but what I found was a novel that both surprised and frustrated me in equal measure. It’s a unique take on the genre, but it definitely has its quirks.
First Impressions
The premise is intriguing: everyone around the protagonist regresses, but he retains his memories and skills. This immediately sets it apart from the usual "starting from scratch" trope. I was hooked early on, eager to see how this dynamic would play out. The initial world-building also grabbed my attention, painting a vivid picture of a dangerous and intriguing world ripe for exploration.
What Works Well
The plot twists are definitely a strong point. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the story threw a curveball that genuinely caught me off guard. The world-building is also commendable, as is the fact that the side characters feel alive and have their own motivations. The author seems to have put a lot of effort into making them more than just cardboard cutouts, which is a huge plus in my book. The action is solid, and the MC's specialization adds a layer of depth, preventing him from becoming an overpowered Mary Sue.
Areas of Concern
Okay, let's address the elephant in the room: the harem. While the initial interactions were promising, the romance aspects seem to fall flat as the story progresses. The main heroine's development, in particular, feels rushed and underdeveloped. The middle section of the novel can also become repetitive, with similar encounters dragging the pacing down.
Another thing that bothered me was the character development. The MC initially felt a bit too naive and pure, and at times, his reactions to events felt muted, especially considering the high stakes. The relationships, while present, sometimes lack the depth and nuance I crave in a good story.

Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "Everyone Else is a Regressor" offers a fresh perspective on the regression genre. The plot twists and world-building kept me engaged, even when the character development and romance faltered. While it might not be a perfect novel, it's still a worthwhile read for those looking for something different. I'd give it a solid 3.5/5 stars. It's a fun read, but be prepared for a bumpy ride.
