Description
My first meeting with him was in the hospital’s ICU. Before I laid my eyes upon him, I thought that the legend of Snow White was simply a fairy tale. How could someone with hair dark as ebony, lips red as blood, and skin white as first snow exist in this world? I began to believe in fairy tales that very day.

My Thoughts on C and A
"C and A" is a short, sharp shock to the system, and honestly, it’s a story that’s lingered in my mind longer than I expected. Diving into this one, I knew I was in for a dark ride, given the trigger warnings, but the emotional impact still caught me off guard.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the premise. It's a medical tragedy with a psychological twist, and I always appreciate stories that try to do something a little different within well-trodden genres. The fact that it's a oneshot also appealed to me; sometimes a concise, impactful narrative is exactly what I'm looking for.
What Works Well
The author, Towei, does an incredible job of crafting dynamic characters despite the limited page count. I felt invested in their story, even though I knew their time on the page would be fleeting. The pacing is excellent, drawing you in and refusing to let go until the very end. I particularly appreciated the exploration of trauma and the complexities of the characters' relationships. The writing style is also very effective, and the translation is superb, maintaining the emotional weight of the original text.

Final Verdict
"C and A" is a powerful and tragic story that, despite its potentially predictable elements, manages to leave a lasting impression. It's a testament to the author's skill that they were able to create such compelling characters and a deeply affecting narrative within the confines of a oneshot. If you're prepared for a dark and emotionally challenging read, I highly recommend giving this one a try. Just be sure to check those trigger warnings first.
