Description
“From the moment I first saw you, I wanted to make you cry.” Yoon-Gun is a man with no emotions. His underdeveloped affection is obsessive and unnecessarily cruel. In front of a certain woman, he becomes a sly, wild beast. “I love him… but I hate him just as much.” Kyu-Young is a woman who represses her own emotions. She’d lose herself in a series of dilemmas created by a certain someone. Can she ever extricate herself from the man who is both the root of her suffering and her life’s savior? Between seasons… the hot and cold months that held them prisoner.

Between Seasons Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
My Thoughts on Between Seasons
"Between Seasons" immediately grabbed my attention with its intriguing premise and complex characters. Diving into this novel felt like discovering a hidden gem, one that resonates with my personal taste for stories that blend emotional depth with a touch of intensity.
First Impressions
The initial chapters introduce us to a seemingly robotic male lead (ML) – a high-IQ, low-EQ genius in computer decoding – and a hardworking, intelligent female lead (FL). I was instantly drawn to the potential for growth and connection between these two very different individuals. I found the story immediately intriguing and wanted to know more.
What Works Well
What I particularly enjoyed was the nuanced portrayal of both leads. They each possess strengths and weaknesses that make them feel incredibly human. The ML's genius is juxtaposed with a mental illness, adding a layer of vulnerability to his otherwise stoic demeanor. The FL, despite her intelligence and strength, carries the baggage of a difficult family history. This shared vulnerability, rooted in their respective pasts, forms a strong connection between them. I also appreciated the subtle development of their relationship and the ML's possessive tendencies, which, while present, didn't feel overly suffocating. The FL's intelligence and modesty were also a big plus for me. I was also impressed by the author's ability to weave programming content into the narrative in an awesome and cool way.

Final Verdict
Despite the ML's questionable actions, I found "Between Seasons" to be a compelling and ultimately satisfying read. The characters' flaws, their emotional baggage, and their journey toward understanding and acceptance make for a captivating story. If you enjoy stories with complex characters, emotional depth, and a touch of morally grey territory, "Between Seasons" is definitely worth checking out.
