"Beautiful Bride" is a wild ride, and I came away from it with a lot to think about. First Impressions
From the start, I was drawn in by Kaiden's story. His life is…rough, to put it mildly. The arranged marriage premise is intriguing, especially when you factor in the whole gods and oracles angle. I went in expecting a typical romance, but quickly realized this was something much more complex.
What Works Well
The emotional depth of "Beautiful Bride" is a major strength. I really felt for Kaiden and understood his hesitations and distrust, given everything he's been through. The author did a great job of portraying his internal struggles. I also enjoyed the character of Amun; his presence brought a sense of comfort and light to the story, which was much needed. The plot, while perhaps a bit repetitive at times, kept me engaged. The author created a world that I wanted to keep exploring.
